Chicken Spirals


  • Egg 1
  • Water 1 tbsp
  • Frozen puff pastry 1 sheet
  • Pepper pdr 1 tsp
  • Chicken 2 to 3 med pieces (cooked)
Clean and cut the chicken. Cook it with salt and little pepper powder. Chop the chicken into small pieces and keep it aside. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Beat egg and water until blended. Keep it aside. Unfold pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it in half, lengthwise. Brush both pastry halves with egg mixture. Sprinkle the pepper pdr evenly over one of the pastry pieces. Spread the small chicken pieces (cooked) over pastry. Place remaining pastry over chicken. Roll it gently. Brush with additional egg mixture. Roll up tightly to form a log. Cut it crosswise into slices. Place this slices on a baking sheet and brush with remaining egg mixture.
Bake it for 12 to 14 min or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.

  • Rice (kuthari) 1/2 cup
  • Jaggery 1 cup grated
  • Coconut 1 to 1 1/2 cup grated
Fry the rice well in a kadai or cheenachatti. Do not use oil. Fry the rice till they start splitting. Make the rice into fine powder. Mix together grated coconut and jaggery. Then add the above prepared rice powder into this mixture and mix well. Make it into small balls.

Kovakka Mezhukkupuratti

  • Kovakka 1/4 kg
  • Onion 1 big
  • Green chilly 5 to 6
  • Curry leaves
  • Turmeric pdr 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper pdr 1/2 to 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds
  • Water as rqd
  • Salt
  • Oil
Clean and cut the kovakka into medium pieces. Cook it with sliced onion, green chilly, curry leaves, salt, little water and a pinch of turmeric pdr. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When it starts spluttering, add curryleaves, pepper pdr and turmeric pdr. Saute well and add the cooked vegetable into this. Saute it well till it turns dry.

Creamy Biscuit Pudding

  • Whipped cream pdr 2 pkt (Dream whipper)
  • Cold milk 1 glass
  • Fresh cream 2 can
  • Milkmaid 1 can
  • Coffee pdr 1 tbsp
  • Biscuit 1 or 2 pkt

Mix together whipping powder and cold milk (take out the cold milk only at the time of preparation so as to keep it cold). Blend it well till it turns thick and fluffy. Mix the fresh cream and coffee powder well in another powder. Add the milkmaid into this fresh cream and mix well. Combine the above prepared two mixtures and keep it aside. In a square shaped or rectangular shaped vessel, arrange the first layer of biscuit. Pour the above prepared cream slowly over the biscuit. Repeat the process and create a max of 3 layers. Top it with a layer of cream. Cover the vessel tightly and keep it in the freezer. Transfer the vessel to the lower part of the refrigerator 1 hr before the pudding is to be served.

Mixed Vegetable Curry

  • Mixed vegetable 2 cup
  • Tomato 1med
  • Onion 2 med
  • Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric pdr 1/4 tsp
  • Corriander pdr 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  • Chilly pdr 2 tsp
  • Tomato sauce 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Oil

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard. When it starts spluttering, add curry leaves, salt and onion. When it turns light brown, add ginger-garlic paste. Saute well. Add all powders into it and roast well in low flame. Add sliced tomato and sauces. Saute well and add the mixed vegetables. Pour rqd amount of water and cook well.
