Cheera (Spinach Thoran)

  • Spinach 1 bunch
  • Coconut 1 cup
  • Green chilly 3
  • Shallots 8
  • Mustard
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil
Clean the spinach and chop it well. Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds. Then add grated coconut, sliced chilly, shallots, curry leaves and salt. Saute it for few mins and put the chopped spinach into it. Mix it and cook well.

Kovakka Varuthathu

  • Tindora (kovakka) 1/4 kg
  • Turmeric pdr 1/4 Tsp
  • Pepper pdr 2 Tsp
  • Salt as rqd
  • Oil
Clean and cut the kovakka into length-wise pieces. Marinate it with salt, pepper pdr and turmeric pdr for 15 mins. Then deep fry it in oil. Serve it hot with rice.

Super Peanut Butter Drops

Welcome all to a grand 2012....!! Let's start this wonderful year with a sweet cookie...!! 

  • Semisweet chocolate pieces 1 cup
  • All purpose flour 1/2 cup
  • Granulated sugar 1/2 cup
  •  Brown sugar 1/2 cup
  • Peanut butter 1 cup
  • Baking soda 1 Tsp
  • Egg 2

Pre-heat the oven to 325° F. In a bowl beat peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and baking soda. Slowly add egg one by one and mix well. Put flour and mix well. Finally mix chocolate pieces into it. Shape dough into 1¼ inch balls. Place it on a ungreased cookie sheet and slightly flatten it with fingers. Bake it for 10 mins or till the side turns brown in colour.
